PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of facilitating discrimination of a food item in a storage room.SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises: communication means that can be connected to the Internet; and a camera 35-1 photographing a food item in a storage room. Image data photographed by the camera 35-1 is transmitted to a server connected to the Internet by the communication means, and the image data is visible from a display terminal connected to the server. An amount of information stored in a memory unit changes depending on a content of the image picked up by the camera 35-1. It is thereby possible to provide the refrigerator capable of satisfactorily photographing the food item in the storage room, facilitating discrimination of the food item, and further capable of optimally managing a data capacity of indoor images obtained by photographing the interior of the storage room, and securing a communication speed and a data storage capacity. 【課題】貯蔵庫内の食品の判別が容易に行える冷蔵庫の提供。【解決手段】インターネットに接続可能な通信手段と、貯蔵庫内の食品を撮影するカメラ３５−１とを備え、カメラで撮影した画像データを通信手段によりインターネットに接続されたサーバに送信し、当該サーバに接続する表示端末から画像データを視認可能とした冷蔵庫であって、カメラによる撮像画像の内容に応じて記憶部に記憶させる情報量を変更するようにしたものである。これにより、貯蔵庫内の食品を良好に撮影できるようにして食品の判別が容易に行うことができ、さらに、貯蔵庫内を撮影した庫内画像のデータ容量を最適に管理し、通信速度とデータ格納容量の確保を行う為の冷蔵庫を提供することができる。【選択図】図７
