Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a depot formulation which is a biodegradability control releasing system of a bioactive compound using a biodegradable matrix for medicament delivery.SOLUTION: A formulation comprises: a non-polymeric and water-insoluble high viscous liquid carrier material having a viscosity of at least 5,000 cP at 37°C which does not crystallize neat under ambient condition or physiological condition; a certain linear polymer comprising a lactide repeating unit; and one or more solvents having solvent capacity. As a specific example, the formulation comprises sucrose acetate isobutyrate (SAIB), poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and a suitable solvent, preferably NMP (N-methylpyrrolidone), and also as a medicament, risperidone and the like. |
