Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker having a simple structure that can determine the outer diameter of an object to be heated.SOLUTION: A heating cooker comprises: a burner 11 (a heating part) for heating a pan (an object to be heated); proximity sensors 21, 22, and 23 that are arranged below a top plate 16 and detect a distance to the pan (the object to be heated) arranged above the burner 11 (the heating part) in a direction toward a radially inner side and an obliquely upper side of the burner 11; and a control part for determining whether the outer diameter of the pan (the object to be heated) is less than a predetermined threshold value on the basis of detected values of the proximity sensors 21, 22, and 23.
