Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize stress peak in a cylinder.SOLUTION: In a vibration damper having a cylinder, a clamp-shaped attachment member 7 is fixed to the cylinder, the attachment member includes a tubular body 9, and the tubular body is kept into contact with an outer side face of the cylinder, and includes radial connecting members 11, 13 at both ends with an interval in the circumferential direction. Pre-tension force is introduced into the tubular body in the circumferential direction by fastening means through the connecting members. The tubular body includes an expanding/contracting portion 19 directed in the circumferential direction of a side face of the cylinder.
