Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low molecular weight compound or a peptide composition and a method for amplifying a human hematopoietic stem cell.SOLUTION: A composition can efficiently amplify a hematopoietic stem cell under existence and non-existence of SCF (stem cell factor) by adding a low molecular weight compound, such as DOPA and Bryostatin 1 which activates or inhibits an intracellular signaling pathway associated with cell growth, or a peptide of a specific sequence to a culture medium alone or in combination. A producing method of the amplified human hematopoietic stem cell which consists of culturing a human hematopoietic stem cell with a medium added with the composition. A human hematopoietic stem cell culture medium consists of serum-free or human serum culture medium containing the composition.
