Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model obtained by reducing a string musical instrument having a plurality of strings by a ratio according to an age-specific body size of a player.SOLUTION: A method for reducing a string musical instrument includes the steps of: measuring specified body region-specific sizes of a number of players playing string musical instruments; classifying the players into a first age group suitable for a standard specification of the string musical instrument and a second age group to which a reduced specification of the string musical instrument is applied on the basis of the measured body region-specific sizes; calculating an average body size of the first age group and an average body size of the second age group by using the measured body region-specific sizes; calculating a first dynamic range in which the upper body of a first player of the average body size of the first age group moves maximally when the first player plays the string musical instrument, and a second dynamic range in which the upper body of a second player of the average body size of the second age group moves maximally when the second player plays the string musical instrument; calculating a ratio of the first dynamic rage to the second dynamic range; calculating the reduced specification to the standard specification on the basis of the calculated ratio; and manufacturing a reduced model of the string musical instrument.
