Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer successively disposed on a conductive support, which shows little change in the characteristics even in repeated use and which hardly causes increase in a residual potential in a low temperature and low humidity environment and generation of black spot images at high temperature and high humidity.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an intermediate layer and a photosensitive layer on a conductive support. The intermediate layer comprises a binder resin and titanium oxide treated with aluminum hydroxide. The volume content percentage of the titanium oxide treated with aluminum hydroxide is 30 vol.% or more and 50 vol.% or less in the intermediate layer; a titanium oxide content percentage in the titanium oxide treated with aluminum hydroxide is 70 wt.% or more and 95 wt.% or less; and the titanium oxide treated with aluminum hydroxide shows a water absorption rate of 0.01 or less. The intermediate layer has a volume resistivity of 1.0×10 cm or more and 1.0×10 cm or less at an electric field intensity of 2.5×10V/cm. |
