Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid storage battery in which sediments generated in a battery jar are made hard to be generated in a strap or the upper part of an electrode group.SOLUTION: In a sediment housing space between a lower surface 2a of an electrode group 2 and a bottom surface 3a of a battery jar 3, a conductive member 5 is provided with which a negative electrode 22 is brought into contact or connected. As a result, sediments are prevented from being stirred up to the upper part and then prevented from being accumulated in the upper part of the electrode group or a strap for performing current collection of a negative electrode plate or a positive electrode plate, thereby eliminating a cause of short-circuit.
