Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking travel control unit capable of suppressing a time lag occurring in tracking travel control at the time of resuming communication tracking travel control.SOLUTION: Included are an ambient sensor 22 that detects a travel state of another vehicle in the vicinity of an own vehicle, a vehicle-to-vehicle communication block 23 that acquires the travel state of the another vehicle, an agreement decision block 13 that decides whether first another vehicle information based on a result of detection by the ambient sensor 22 is agreed with second another vehicle information acquired by the vehicle-to-vehicle communication unit 23, a tracking travel control block 14 that if a decision is made that the first another vehicle control is agreed with the second another vehicle information, initiates communication tracking travel control with the another vehicle as a preceding vehicle, and a reliability designation block 17 that designates the degrees of reliability of the first another vehicle information and second another vehicle information. When a transition is made from a state, in which the communication tracking travel control is disabled, to a state in which the communication tracking travel control is enabled, if the degrees of reliability of the pieces of another vehicle information are equal to or larger than a threshold, the agreement decision block 13 does not decide on the agreement of the pieces of another vehicle information, but the tracking travel control block 14 resumes the communication tracking travel control.
