PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release film having excellent releasing properties to an object to be transferred.SOLUTION: A release layer is formed by applying a releasing agent which contains a cyclic olefin-based resin as a solid principal ingredient and contains at least one higher fatty acid-based releasing agent selected from a polyhydric alcohol higher fatty acid ester and a higher fatty acid amide on at least one surface of a substrate film. The cyclic olefin-based resin may be a copolymer of a di- to hexa-cyclic olefin and an α-chain Colefin. The polyhydric alcohol higher fatty acid ester may be a glycerin saturated fatty acid ester, a pentaerythritol saturated fatty acid ester, a dipentaerythritol saturated fatty acid ester or the like. The ratio of the higher fatty acid-based releasing agent is approximately 0.01 to 20 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the cyclic olefin-based resin.
