Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently capture specific metals contained in a liquid to be treated by an adsorption layer of an adsorbent by uniformly dispersing the liquid to be treated in the adsorbent and making it flow therein.SOLUTION: The adsorbent comprises: a plurality of adsorption layers (1, 1') which at least partially contain metal adsorption fiber; and a plurality of binder layers (2, 2') which at least partially contain thermoplastic fiber arranged between the plurality of adsorption layers (1, 1') and fused to the adjacent adsorption layers (1, 1'). When a liquid to be treated (41, 51) passes through parallel to the lamination direction of the adsorption layers (1, 1') and the binder layers (2, 2'), the adsorption layers (1, 1') adsorb specific metals existing in the liquid to be treated (41, 51), and the liquid to be treated (41, 51) flowing in the lamination direction is dispersed before or inside the binder layer (2, 2'), having higher flow resistance than that of the adsorption layer (1, 1'), in a lateral direction (41') with respect to the lamination direction to pass through (41'') the binder layer (2, 2'), whereby adsorption efficiency is improved.
