Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkyd surfactant which is not subject to migration, blooming, or leaching from a cured coating in emulsification of alkyd resins.SOLUTION: An alkyd surfactant is formed by copolymerization of at least one monomer having a hydrophilic group, at least one ethylenically unsaturated fatty acid or ethylenically unsaturated ester, and optionally, at least one polyol, and has a branching potential less than or equal to 50%.
