Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file system with a quota management function that can perform quota management in a relatively low load state.SOLUTION: An I/O server 2includes: a total quota storage part 6 which stores a total quota as the quota of the whole file system 1 with a quota management function; a partial quota storage part 7 which stores a partial quota as a quota in the I/O server 2; a quota management part 8 which saves an actual file as a division and imparts a quota ID of a quota that a file created by referring to the total quota saved in the total quota storage part 6 belongs to the actual file; and a quota totaling part 5 which gather update parts of partial quotas from all other I/O servers 2to 2in the file system 1 with the quota management function through a communication part 4, creates a total quota on which the gathered update parts are reflected, and distributes the created total quota to the all other I/O servers 2to 2through the communication part 4.
