Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-assisted cleaning unit that extends the useful life of a bias charge roll and an imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: A vibration-assisted bias charge roll cleaning system 121 includes a bias charge roll 105 cleaning member 125 connected to an actuator for causing the cleaning member 125 to vibrate. The actuator is controlled to vibrate according to a predetermined pattern, and at desired frequencies at particular modes. The cleaning member 125 is configured to be movable to a contact-cleaning position and a cleaning member cleaning position at which the cleaning member 125 is separate from the charge roll 105.
