Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing intaglio which allows formation of a high-quality printing body at low costs and its production method.SOLUTION: A middle layer 20 uniform in thickness is formed on the surface of a substrate 10, which is made of an FRP resin and has a cylindrical shape, by using a resin material having a wettability to an ink 7 and elasticity. The surface of the middle layer 20 is coated, with a constant thickness, with e.g. a fluorine coating film having wettability to the ink 7 lower than that of the middle layer 20 as a front surface layer 30. The surface layer 30 and the middle layer 20 are removed through a specified printing pattern by a laser processing machine, with the middle layer 20 left to a specified thickness from the surface of the substrate 10, to form a concave groove part 40.
