PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve device of an internal combustion engine with small intake loss while securing a desired intake amount.SOLUTION: The variable valve device 100 comprises: a rocker arm 5 swingably supported by a support shaft 3, and opening and closing an intake valve 4 together with swing operation; a swing arm 6 swingably supported at an intermediate part of the rocker arm 5 by a fulcrum arm pin 8, and having a first input roller 15 and a second input roller 13 at a position to sandwich the fulcrum arm pin 8; and a cam 2 fixed to a cam shaft 1 arranged near the first input roller 15 and enabling opening and closing of the intake valve 4 in contact with the first input roller 15. The variable valve device comprises: a tappet 23 for supporting the second input roller 13 so that its position can be displaced; and a movable member control part 52 for actuating the tappet 23, displacing the position of the second input roller 13 and controlling an opening state of the intake valve 4 when the intake valve 4 is under the opening state.
