PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid hardening method and a liquid hardening device capable of obtaining a coating liquid pattern flattened in a surface shape.SOLUTION: A liquid hardening method for hardening a coating liquid pattern P formed of a coating liquid at a location surrounded by partition walls arranged on a substrate includes: a drying process (in a drying portion 2) of making a solvent vaporize from the coating liquid pattern P and drying the coating liquid pattern P by heating the coating liquid pattern P to a solvent vaporizing temperature which is a temperature not causing a damage on the surface shape of the liquid coating pattern P when the solvent in the coating liquid pattern P is vaporized; a thermal flow process (in a thermal flow portion 3) for keeping the temperature of the coating liquid pattern P for a prescribed time so as to become the temperature higher than the solvent vaporizing temperature; and a hardening process (in a hardening portion 4) for hardening the coating liquid pattern P.
