Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fill refrigerant of an appropriate amount into an air conditioner and piping elements.SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes: an outdoor unit including a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, and an expansion valve; an indoor unit including an indoor heat exchanger, and connected to the outdoor unit via a piping element; and a controller controlling a refrigerating cycle formed by the outdoor unit, the indoor unit, and the piping element. The outdoor unit further includes; a prevention valve for opening/closing a channel between the outdoor unit and the piping element; and a pressure sensor measuring a pressure of refrigerant in the outdoor unit. If the prevention valve is opened in a state in which the prevention valve is closed and an interior of the piping element is decompressed, the controller determines whether to perform a first filling process for filling the refrigerant into the refrigerating cycle from a refrigerant cylinder without actuating the compressor, on the basis of a change in the pressure measured before and after opening of the prevention valve.
