Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument which achieves a safe and kind treatment by optimally controlling a cautery temperature and reducing a diameter of a needle tube in a cautery element used in cautery treatment.SOLUTION: A cautery element includes: a needle tube 1 constituted of a hollow pipe 11 which has a closed distal end and has an outer diameter set to 1.0 mm or more and 1.61 mm or less; a tubular resistance temperature detector thermosensitive element 2 which is inserted in a distal end inner part of the needle tube and has a length set to 10 mm or longer and 30 mm or shorter; and an operational part 3 provided on a proximal end of the needle tube 1, and is formed as a needle-like instrument to cauterize a tissue by electrical resistance heating with a controlled temperature. A plurality of the needle tubes where the resistance temperature detector thermosensitive element is inserted may be provided in one operational part in a manner to be parallel to each other.
