Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photochromic lens that has a photochromic layer having desired physical properties.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a photochromic lens that includes a photochromic layer containing photochromic dye and a resin component over a plastic lens base material comprises: formation of an aqueous resin layer over the plastic lens base material by coating the base material with an aqueous resin composition containing the resin component and an aqueous solvent and drying the coat; and formation of the photochromic layer by coating the aqueous resin layer with a photochromic liquid containing the photochromic dye, a polymerizable component, and a polymerization initiator and subjecting the coated layer to polymerization. The aqueous resin composition contains a polymerization initiator of the same type as the polymerization initiator contained in the photochromic liquid.
