Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a redox couple, such as an iodine-based redox couple, showing no strong absorption in a visible light region, easy to seal in, and offering a high performance; and a photoelectric conversion device arranged by use of such a redox couple, and achieving high practicability.SOLUTION: A redox couple comprises: a compound expressed by the general formula (1); and a compound expressed by the general formula (2). In the general formula (1), A represents Li, K or Na, or an ammonium compound, an imidazolium compound or a pyrrolidinium compound. In the general formula (1) and the general formula (2), R's represent a straight-chain alkyl group having 4-8 carbon atoms, which are identical to each other or partially or totally different from each other.
