Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a GeO-based infrared transmissive glass that gives abundant variations of glass materials to be selected for designing an optical lens for infrared rays.SOLUTION: The glass is configured to have a composition of components including, by mol%, 25 to 64% of GeO; 8 to 45% of one or more fluorides selected from LiF, NaF, KF, MgF, CaF, SrF, BaF, ZnF, AlF, YF, LaFand GdF; and 15 to 60% of one or more oxides selected from LiO, NaO, KO, MgO, CaO, SrO, BaO, ZnO, YO, LaO, GdO, GaO, ZrOand TaO; and to satisfy demands for a refractive index nd of 1.68 to 1.81 and an Abbe number d of 38 to 47.
