Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift controller capable of improvement of responsibility of gear change on kickdown.SOLUTION: A gear shift controller for hybrid vehicles 1 comprises a dual clutch type change gear 10, a first MG3 connected to a first input axis 13 of the change gear 10 in a power transmittable way, and a second MG4 connected to a second input axis 14 of the change gear 10 in a power transmittable way. When the vehicle 1 runs with an internal combustion engine 2, the gear shift controller estimates a required driving force for the vehicle 1. Then, when the estimated driving force is greater than a second determination value, the gear shift controller shifts the gear train on the side not related to the running of the vehicle 1 to a shift stage three stages lower than the present, and, when the estimated driving force is equal to or smaller than the second determination value, the gear shift controller shifts to a sift stage one stage lower than the present. When the shift stage shifted is different from a target shift stage to be practically shifted to, the change gear 10 is shifted to the target shift state while assisting the drive of a driving wheel 6 by the first MG3 or the second MG4.
