Inside the umbrella part 11 of the poppet valve, a hollow portion 15 is provided which is encircled by a side wall 13 and a bottom wall 12 of the umbrella part 11. In an inner face 16 of the side wall 13, a plurality of recessed portions 17 extending along the inclining direction of the side wall 13 are formed at spaces in the peripheral direction of the shaft part 10 around its axial center.
