PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly constitute a clothes dryer by simplifying a pipe conduit of a heat pump device through which a coolant circulates.SOLUTION: The clothes dryer includes: a circulation air path 11 for circulating drying air discharged from a drying chamber 10 for housing clothing to the drying chamber 10; a blower 9 for blowing air to the circulation air path 11; a heat pump device 6 in which a compressor 1, a condenser 2, squeezing means 3, and an evaporator 4 are connected by a coolant pipe 5 so that a coolant circulates; a water receiving part 12 for housing the coolant pipe 5 projecting from an end of the condenser 2; a cooling water supply means for supplying cooling water to the water receiving part 12; coolant-temperature detection means 19 disposed in the water receiving part 12; and control means 20 for controlling a drying operation. The control means 20 supplies cooling water to the water receiving part 12 in accordance with an output of the coolant-temperature detection means 19. Thus, it is possible to cool an introduction part having a high temperature of the coolant pipe and effectively exhaust heat in accordance with an output of the coolant-temperature detection means, and it is possible to simplify the coolant pipe through which a coolant circulates and compactly constitute the heat pump device.
