Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently recover fuel oil vapor remaining within an underground tank during unloading of fuel oil from a tank lorry to the underground tank, etc.SOLUTION: A vapor recovery apparatus 1 includes: suction means 20 that is installed in a recovery pipe 22 branched from a vent pipe 7 having one end connected to an underground tank 3 and sucks and recovers fuel oil vapor within the underground tank; and condensation means 40 connected to the downstream side of the suction means and condensing the fuel oil vapor. The suction means can variably control suction force of the fuel oil vapor. The suction means comprises: a press pump 31 installed in the recovery pipe; and a rotating sensor 21 that is connected to a flow rate detection pipe 24 branched from the recovery pipe on the upstream side of the press pump and detects a flow rate of the fuel oil vapor flowing in the recovery pipe. Start and stop of the press pump can be controlled according to whether or not the rotating sensor detects flowing of the fuel oil vapor.
