Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base transceiver station that avoids the use of coaxial cables for transferring a signal.SOLUTION: A digital transceiver (DTRX) usable in a radio communications systems for transmitting and receiving digital base-band signals includes a digital up-converter (DUC) 310 for transmitting the digital base-band signals and the DTRX 300 having a digital down-converter for receiving the digital base-band signals. The DUC 310 includes two over-sampling units 314 and 315, a quadrature modulation unit 340, and a time-discrete sigma delta band-pass modulator 318. The digital down-converter includes a quadrature demodulation unit 360, two decimeter units 356 and 357, and two sub-sampling units 354 and 355. The digital base-band signal includes an in-phase component (I-signal) and a quadrature component (Q-signal).
