Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion member which can prevent falling of refractory in a removal operation of sticking base metal.SOLUTION: An immersion member has a structure that both inside and outside of a tube-shaped steel shell 1 are coated with refractory and used by being immersed in molten metal. Multiple through-holes 6 are formed on the tube-shaped steel shell 1 at an area immersed in the molten metal, and outside refractory 4 and inside refractory 5 of the tube-shaped steel shell 1 are unified by refractory filled through the through-holes 6. A preferable structure is that reinforcing pipes 7 are inserted through the through-holes 6 and the refractory is filled in the inside.
