Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for highly efficient production of butanol in butanol fermentation.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for butanol production including culture of a clostridial transformant in a culture medium containing a carbon source under elevated reduction power, where the transformant lacks both of genetic function of acetic acid forming enzymes in the pathway of acetic acid synthesis from acetyl CoA, and genetic function of acetone forming enzymes in the pathway of acetone synthesis from acetoacetyl CoA.
