Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing and drying machine which reduces power consumption and also can shorten a drying period of time than before.SOLUTION: The washing and drying machine supplies air which is heated by waste heat radiated from an electric component of the washing and drying machine, into a rotary drum at the time of a drying step; increases a velocity of the air to be supplied to 100 km/h or more, blows the air into the rotary drum and dries laundry; and discharges drying air that contains moisture from the laundry to the outside of the machine without recirculating the drying air in the washing and drying machine.
