Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door lock device for a vehicle that prevents a door from opening in a case of a side collision, has a simple structure, and can be reduced in cost.SOLUTION: An upper end part 55 of a rod 50 and a lower end part 52 of the rod are positioned on mutually opposite sides of a door sash 17 when a door is viewed from a vehicle width direction. The rod 50 has a bent part 56 between a vertical extension part 54 and a horizontal extension part 58. The bent part 56 is provided at the position where the door sash 17 and the rod 50 cross each other in side view. The position where the door sash 17 and the rod 50 cross each other is at substantially the same height with a lower connection part 51. Namely, the lower connection part 51, for a latch release lever 32, of the lower end part 52 of the rod 50 is provided at substantially the same height with the bent part 56, and the bent part 56 and the door sash 17 overlap each other in side view.
