PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for panoptic visualization of a document having a structure defined according to a particular schema.SOLUTION: The system includes a document parser 202, a colligater 204 and a layout engine. The document parser 202 is configured to disassemble an electronic document into a plurality of constituent pages each of which includes corresponding media content. The colligater 204 is configured to colligate the pages, including being configured to provide metadata for each page of the plurality of pages. The metadata identifies a link between the page and one or more other pages, and the link establishes a logical relationship between the pages according to the structure of the document. The layout engine is configured to generate a layout of pages of the document, and the layout includes a panoptic arrangement of visual representations of the pages of the layout according to the associated metadata of each page.
