Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner which can reduce chromaticity dispersion on a document face by using blue LED for correction even if the chromaticity dispersion is large in an illumination optical system using a plurality of pseudo white LEDs.SOLUTION: Prescribed blue LED 9 in a second blue LED 9 is illuminated with an appropriate light emission amount so that balance of red output, green output and blue output of a line sensor 21 when a pseudo white LED 8 is lighted can be within a prescribed range.
