Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in molding a thin-wall and large-sized structural member in an integrated form, low pressure casting has difficulties relating to running properties, while high-vacuum die casting requires high costs.SOLUTION: A low pressure casting apparatus 1 is for molding a structural member SM by low pressure casting and has two or more gates 11 arranged below a cavity C of a mold 6 and alienated from the cavity C and fan gates 12 connecting the cavity C and individual gates 11 in a communicating state. Each fan gate 12 is flabellate, widening toward the cavity C in a plane view, and decreases gradually in cross section toward the cavity C, leading to stability of running throughout the cavity C and thus enabling integral molding of a thin-wall and large-sized structural member SM with high quality and low costs.
