Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous metal substrate-supported solid oxide fuel cell less in deterioration of porosity and strength of a porous metal substrate due to sintering, and including a fuel electrode in a sufficient sintered state, and a method for manufacturing the porous metal substrate-supported solid oxide fuel cell.SOLUTION: In co-sintering a porous metal substrate 2 and a fuel electrode 3 in a solid oxide fuel cell including the fuel electrode 3, an electrolyte 4 and an air electrode 5, in the order, on the metal substrate 2, the entire surface or a part of the surface of the porous metal substrate 2 is coated with an antioxidant material C, then the fuel electrode 3 is laminated, and the substrate 2 and the fuel electrode 3 in the laminated state are co-sintered in atmospheric air.
