Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely measure the concentration of nitrite nitrogen without depending upon pH of an electrolyte solution mixed with sample water in a nitrite nitrogen concentration measuring method based upon an electrochemical measurement method.SOLUTION: The nitrite nitrogen concentration of sample water is measured based upon an electric current or charge detected by applying a voltage of 800-1,200 mV among a work electrode 12, a reference electrode 13 and a counter electrode 14 dipped in a mixed liquid of the sample water and an electrolytic solution in a detection cell 11. Further, it is preferred that the sample water is subjected to an electrolytic treatment in advance before the sample water is mixed with the electrolytic solution.
