PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum heat insulating material which efficiently provides high degree of vacuum and has improved heat insulation performance.SOLUTION: A vacuum heat insulating material includes core material 3 of fiber aggregate and outer packaging material 4 which has gas-barrier property and houses the core material 3, and evacuates and seals an inner part of the outer packaging material 4. The vacuum heat insulating material has tubular members 2 disposed in the core material 3 and has such a configuration that tips of the tubular members 2 are exposed to an outer part of the core material 3. By installing the tubular members 2, the movement of gas molecules is facilitated in the internal space of the tubular members 2 when being evacuated and sealed and, thereby, the degree of vacuum and heat insulation performance of the vacuum heat insulating material can be improved.
