PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper blade which holds slidability, wiping performance and durability and holds excellent water repellent film-forming ability immediately after manufacturing even when a period of time until start of use from the manufacturing is comparatively long, and to provide a method for manufacturing the wiper blade for manufacturing the wiper blade with excellent workability.SOLUTION: There is provided a wiper blade 1 including: a base body 2 which contains additional vulcanization type silicone rubber and does not substantially contain silicone oil; and a surface layer 3 which is arranged at least on a surface of a part for wiping glass and has a silicone polymer of 100 pts.mass, a silicone oil of 5-60 pts.mass, and a lubricant. There is also provided a method for manufacturing the wiper blade 1 including steps of: manufacturing the base body 2 by extrusion molding the additional vulcanization type silicone rubber composition substantially not containing the silicone oil into the base body 2; and forming the surface layer 3 by coating a silicone polymer composition containing a silicone polymer precursor of 100 pts.mass, the silicone oil of 5 to 60 pts.mass, and the lubricant, on that surface of the base body 2, and curing it.
