PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium information registration system and the like which improve accuracy of detecting the number of colonies to prevent erroneous detection of the number of the colonies so that information with respect to a medium including the number of the colonies can be accurately registered.SOLUTION: A server device 40 of a hygiene control system has a configuration for respective colony candidates specified by using a feature quantity of each pixel constituting a medium image, comprising the steps of: (1) determining a coordinate on the medium image of each of the colony candidates, and determining the feature quantity of each colony candidate; (2) determining a position between respective colony candidates on the medium image as a reference position, and determining the feature quantity at the reference position as a reference feature quantity on the basis of the feature quantity of the pixel belonging to at least one of a pixel adjacent to the reference position and a pixel including the reference position; and (3) determining whether one colony is a part of the same colony on the basis of each feature quantity of the respective colony candidates and the respective reference positions.
