Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle information recognition system capable of easily setting an appropriate camera imaging direction and an imaging depression angle without such troublesome adjustment works on the spot.SOLUTION: A camera 110 for photographing at least a license plate of a vehicle is supported by first direction means 133 in one direction of a plurality of directions on a first surface, and by second direction means 134 in one direction of a plurality of directions on a second surface within a nearly vertical surface. Information processing means recognizes vehicle information from image data photographed by the camera 110 according to the regulated direction angle and the regulated depression angle specified as such.
