Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate determining whether a fast heating type fixing mode with emphasis on convenience is applied, whether a heat-storage type fixing mode with emphasis on productivity is applied or whether both modes are used in combination by being switched during processing.SOLUTION: A form for selecting a fast-heating mode and a heat-storage mode is established. In a form 1, the selection is made on the basis of a predetermined operational expression in order to select a fixing mode that is faster in completing processing. In a form 2, when a plurality of copies are involved, a first copy is processed in the fast-heating mode, and after that, the fixing mode is selected based on the total number of copies to be processed. In a form 3, by inputting the number of copies to be processed, the processing completion time at each of the fast-heating mode, the heat-storage mode or both modes is simulated and notified to a user. In a form 4, the fast-heating mode taking priority of FCOT is executed as an initial operation when the number of copies to be processed is not ascertained, and the fixing mode faster in completion time of the processing is selected when the number of copies to be processed is ascertained.
