Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel sound absorbing material which is excellent in heat resistance property, and remarkably excellent in sound absorbing performance for noise and wear resistance of the surface.SOLUTION: The sound absorbing material is made of a laminated body having a thickness of 5 to 50 mm, which includes a melt-blown nonwoven fabric formed by accumulating fine fibers made from a mixture of 80 mass% to 20 mass% of copolymerized polyethylene terephthalate resin and 20 mass% to 80 mass% of polybutylene terephthalate substantially in a planar shape and having an apparent density of 0.1 to 0.4 g/cmand a basis weight of 5 to 300 g/m, and a spun-bonded nonwoven fabric comprising polyester fibers having a single fiber fineness of 1 to 11 dtex and a basis weight of 10 to 100 g/mlaminated on at least one side of the nonwoven fabric. The spun-bonded nonwoven fabric is arranged on the uppermost surface.
