Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of accurately and quickly making chromaticity follow the change of temperature in a light source.SOLUTION: An image display device 10 includes a light amount detecting part 34 detecting the light component in a first wavelength range of a part of illumination light ML, to output light-amount detection values Bd and Gd and detecting the light component in a second wavelength range of a part of illumination light ML, to detect a light-amount detection value Rd, a light source control part 20 adjusting the chromaticity of the illumination light ML, based on the light-amount detection values Bd, Gd and Rd, and an operation part 40. The operation part 40 estimates the internal temperature Tr of a second light source 32, based on the light-amount detection values Bd and Gd, to calculate the shift amount dw of the light-emitting wavelength of the second light source 32, based on the internal temperature Tr. The operation part 40 further corrects the light-amount detection value Rd by using the shift amount dw.
