Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital watermark embedding device capable of embedding much more information without reducing reliability in detection of a digital watermark and also without making the digital watermark conspicuous visually.SOLUTION: In a digital watermark embedding device 1, an embedding sequence generating section 10 generates an information sequence by replacing embedding information with any values which are made correspondent beforehand, included in K kinds of different values (K is an integer equal to or more than 3) which are changed in accordance with displacement. Based on a diffusion sequence, the generated information sequence is displaced, thereby generating the embedding sequence. A pattern superimposing section 40 superimposes a digital watermark into an input signal based on the embedding sequence and outputs a watermark embedded signal I'.
