Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a top sealing device for a liquid paper container and a sealing control method, which enable the adjustment of sealing conditions to be automated without replacing a compression-bonding element and can thereby simply perform optimum top sealing even when the sealing material or the size of the liquid paper container is changed.SOLUTION: A top sealing device 60 for a liquid paper container includes: heating means 61 for heating lap-sticking plates on a top part; compression-bonding means 62 for compression-bonding the lap-sticking plates on the top part; control means 63 for controlling the heating means 61 and the compression-bonding means 62; and means 64 for retrieving control values of the control means 63. The means 64 for retrieving the control values of the control means 63 retrieves top sealing conditions according to the type of the liquid paper container from a data base 64a storing data on heating temperature, compression-bonding force and compression-bonding time. The control means 63 controls the heating means 61 and the compression-bonding means 63 to seal the lap-sticking plates under the retrieved top sealing conditions.
