Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing apparatus and a manufacturing method for spiral body that can easily manufacture a spiral body in an expected shape with a uniform pitch free of curvature of an axis even in the absence of a pipe material, serving as a guide, at an outer periphery of the spiral body.SOLUTION: One end of shaped steel as a material for a spiral body is supported in a rotation restrained state with a fixed-side chuck 13. The other end of the shaped steel is coupled to a motor 15 as rotation driving means through a rotation-side chuck 14. While the shaped steel is twisted by the motor 15 and stays tensed in an axial direction as specified by the twisting, the fixed-side chuck 13 and rotation-side chuck 14 are gradually put closer to each other.
