Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transport sand, gravel, and sediment continuously and efficiently over a long distance in a dam reservoir or the like.SOLUTION: A sediment transport system S is constituted in such a manner that: it includes an ultra-high pressure pump 1, an ejector 2, and an air feed device 3; the ultra-high pressure pump 1 is connected to an injection port of the ejector 2; a delivery port of the ejector 2 and a transport starting point of a transport pipe line L are connected to each other; and the air feed device 3 is connected to a predetermined position ahead of the delivery port of the ejector 2. The ejector 2 is driven along with the air feed device 3, and the sediment charged into the transport starting point of the transport pipe line L containing gravel up to a predetermined size to be pressure-fed is mixed with air and is pressure-fed to the transport starting point through the transport pipe line L.
