Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preferable partition having further enhanced sound masking performance suppressing the transmission of noises and conversations occurring in an adjacent room to another room.SOLUTION: A partition 1 comprises: a pair of panel bodies 2 which are erected with a space therebetween and partition a floor; a speaker 51 which is located between the panel bodies 2 and emits a sound S for sound masking, and in which a directional principal axis is provided to be inclined with respect to a vertical direction and a horizontal direction in a closed internal space. The masking sound S emitted by the speaker 51 is propagated obliquely downward or obliquely upward. The masking sound S is discharged and diffused from a wide range of the panel bodies 2 into an indoor while repeating reflection in the internal space of the partition 1.
