Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability and adequacy of a calculated value of a range in relation to a range arithmetic arrangement.SOLUTION: A vehicular range arithmetic arrangement includes remaining quantity calculation means 3a that calculates a remaining quantity of power stored in a driving battery loaded on a vehicle, and first calculation means 1c that calculates as a power cost a mileage per a unit capacity of the driving battery on the basis of a power consumption of the driving battery and the mileage of the vehicle. In addition, the vehicular range arithmetic arrangement includes limit quantity setting means 1a that sets a limit quantity which increases as the remaining quantity calculated by the remaining quantity calculation means 3a gets larger. Further, the vehicular range arithmetic arrangement includes second calculation means 1d that calculates a restrained power cost which has a variation of the power cost, which is calculated by the first calculation means 1c, restrained for fear the variation of the power cost may exceed a permissible change quantity of a time-sequential variation of the power cost to be calculated according to the limit quantity, and third calculation means 1g that calculates a range, which is an estimated value of a distance by which the vehicle can be driven with the remaining quantity of power, on the basis of the remaining quantity of power calculated by the remaining quantity calculation means 3a and the restrained power cost calculated by the second calculation means 1d.
