Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct image shift when printing is restarted after a sheet is replenished.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus performs a process in which, when no-sheet state occurs during printing, an image formed on a conveyance belt is continuously printed after a sheet is replenished. In the process, an image which can be left on the conveyance belt at the instance the no-sheet state occurs is formed on the conveyance belt, and thereafter a joint for detecting re-driving timing is drawn on the conveyance belt. When a sheet is replenished, the sheet is conveyed to a resist roller, and the conveyance belt is driven. Then, timing is calculated by reading the joint for detecting re-driving timing by using a toner mark sensor, and a tip position of the image is correctly aligned by re-driving the resist roller.
